Adam Sargant is the principal trainer and founder of Personnel Development. He is originally a mental health nurse with over 17 years experience from staff nurse to ward manager. He has provided trainings in both care and other settings and has a keen interest in communication strategies. The emphasis in his trainings is always based on the development of communication and rapport.

He trained as a neuro-linguistic programming practitioner (a communications model) from 2000 onwards, in order to further develop this side of training. During this period he was training director of a nursing recruitment agency and devised the SCRAM (Strategies for Conflict Resolution and Aggression Management) program which he delivered to various mental health settings at the time.

His work experience also includes category A prisons, psychiatric liaison nurse in A&E department, assertive outreach and challenging behaviour learning disability settings. He also currently delivers freelance training to private mental health settings, GP practices and voluntary organisations.
